ILR without solicitior or barrister??

Post by 3crown » Wed Nov 19, 2008 11:30 am

Hi....We're a fair way off applying for ILR but just wondering, when the time comes, if we should risk it without the use of a barrister. We had the help of one to get us an overturn on the Spouse Visa (but didn't come cheap!).
Hub's case fairly straightforward, I believe, was here for 8 years illegally and went home to put his house in order...He's done his Life test, has job, NI no. etc...not claiming funds...and we will satisfy the living together requirements and letters/documentation, just trying to save a bit of dosh, worth 'going it alone' do you think? (Unless the rules change drastically before then!)

Use a barrister? Well if it comes to an appeal heating, maybe, but initially, absolutely not.

And based upon what you have posted, probably no need to have any professional help to make the ILR application.
