Hello!
I'm a self-employed performer and nanny, applying for my UK citizenship as an EU citizen with Settled Status. I'm now at the point of collecting evidence of my residence here over the last 5 years.
On gov.uk I've read that one thing I can use as evidence is:
"A dated and signed letter from an employer, confirming the duration of a period of UK-based employment which has been undertaken, and confirmation of the employer’s status (such as registration with HMRC or Companies House). "
For a large portion of the 5 year qualifying period I'd been employed by private people (i.e not companies) as a nanny for their children, so I don't think I can confirm my employer's status as required. Does that mean I cannot use this kind of employment as evidence?
I am registered as self employed with HMRC and have been declaring my income and paying NI contributions throughout.
Other documents I have requested include bank statements from the last 5 years and a document from HMRC showing my NI contributions. I also have some job contracts for a portion of the period from registered companies.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
