Referee requirements for child

Post by Puki61 » Thu Sep 08, 2022 4:34 pm

hi there,

I will apply 1week passport via London office next Monday , so got form from the post office to fill in.

I saw that one referee information required for countersignature who also require to sing the photo of the baby , in the form only one referee information needed , so please confirm for the UK passport application its only one enough , i knew from the citizenship application it was 2 referee normally required.

2nd question on the form there is a section as follow:

"Certificate of registration or naturalisation" Section

Question : Has the person at section 2 been granted British citizenship by applying for naturalisation or registration through the home office?

If i say Yes its asking certificate number and place of issue ,

I do currently hold ILR , and registered her thru camberley registry office two days ago ,so

should i say no or yes with the full birth certificate details if that is the thing they ask for details in that section?

Many thanks
Burak

Only one referee required.

The answer here should be "No" because baby is British by virtue of you holding ILR at the time of birth so automatically British. Not sure what other options are on the form - otherwise explain at the appointment, i.e. you held ILR at time of birth. Bring your BRP card.

Many thanks
