Employment history on Naturalisation Application

Post by sohaib5588 » Fri Sep 09, 2022 10:45 pm

Hello,

I will be very grateful for your advice.
I have submitted application for naturalisation for myself and my wife. I have not yet given my biometrics/submitted documents.
I am doctor (general practioner) and am self employed and director of my company. At the time of application, my wife was technically an employee of my company and I was paying salary to her acount as well. But I have just realised, I declared my wife as being unemployed on her application (she was not working/had any other job at the time i submitted naturalisation application last month and her role in my company is quite limited, therefore, i made a blunder).
My question is:

1. can i explain this in cover letter and submit her tax summaries to show that all the dues to HMRC have been paid in full?
2. or do i need to withdraw the current application and start a new one and ask for a refund?

I will be extremely grateful for any advice as I am quite stressed :(

Thank you very much.

1. Yes
2. No - avoid withdrawing, refunds can take a few weeks

Thanks a lot for the advice.
Can you please advise in addition to the tax summaries, what other documents should I submit?
Like payslips/P45 as she has now left the employment from my company? She started her own job 5 days ago, I did not mention this in her application last month when I submitted it as that time she was not employed. Should I now submit any documents related to her new job like contract of employment?

Applicant only needs to state current employment details at the time of application - and proof of employment is not required. For naturalisation there are no financial or emplyment requirements.
