Quite possibly other new forms published today, The easy way to check that out is to use the
Advanced Search facility, and feed in the name of the form you are interested in.
Interesting... (Is it sad that I find these forms intriguing?)
Re: SET(M)
I still don't understand why they require a civil partnership certificate for civil partners, but spouses don't have to send a marriage certificate.
Re: Photos and ID Cards
Interesting that they are starting to ask people to send passports, photos, AND identity cards. Seems like if you had an identity card, they would already have your biometric info and photo on file, plus all of your immigration history (isn't that the way they're selling these 'ID cards for foreigners'?) It should be an either/or thing: either we put a visa in your passport, or we update your ID card. But they want to do both? So they still want to deprive people of any form of ID during the application process, and tie them here while they don't have a passport to travel. Grrr. Wouldn't it be nice if they shortened postal application processing times accordingly?!
On the other hand, it is obvious that many of the questions that plague users on this forum are being addressed on the new forms: clarification about what types of docs to send; what to do if you have lived with friends or family; how to attach your photos. My colleague was asking me about that just this week and I suggested an envelope. Ha!
Sigh... I'm clearly thinking about this stuff too much!
