Hello,
I was a Chinese Citizen and recently got British citizenship (renturned BRP etc). Submitted the passport application with my married name (also on the naturalisation certificate). As my married name contained husband’s surname which is foreign character. Chinese government generally don’t update the data page but they included in the observation notes of the Chinese passport saying “this holder of the passport’s name is also spelled/written as xxx (marriage name)
Anyway I submitted my Chinese passport and forgot to include a note to say about the married name on the observation page and got an email from HMPO saying names don’t align. So I called up the service line etc and they said they would put a note on the system and asked me to send them a letter explaining this. So I did.
I was wondering if the note of name on the observation page be sufficient? I tried to reach out to Chinese embassy to obtain a letter of refusal to change name but no reply and through reading lots of posts here I start to panic if this would be an issue?
I was wondering if anyone has been in the similar boat and can kind advise me on it? Thank you!
