Error on ILR (Set O) application

Post by amaharaj » Mon Oct 10, 2022 11:47 pm

Hi,

I submitted an ILR application for my wife and I recently.

I was on Tier 2 visa and later changed to Skilled worker visa. My first visa was granted on the 04/10/2017 but was later changed to a Skilled worker visa during May 2021. My wife remained on her PBS dependent visa which was issued on the 04/10/2017 since it was only due to expire on the 30/11/2022.

Whilst filling out the PBS dependent section of the ILR application form, I answered Yes to the question "Does the period of stay on which this application was based include any leave granted since 11 January 2018?". I also filled in all the dates of absence since 11 January 2018. Her absences from the UK does not breach 180-day rule.

My understanding is that I should have answered No to the question since my wife's visa was not extended or changed since the issue date 04/10/2017.

Is it possible that this error could impact our application? Should I include a cover letter explaining the error and include it with the documents being uploaded to UKVCAS?

Yes, include the cover letter and explain you made a mistake. This likely won't have a huge impact on your application.
