ILR - Do we need 5 year with one employer only??

Post by anuje » Mon Nov 17, 2008 7:27 pm

hi,
The question might sound daft, but i will appreciate if someone can clarify whether to apply for ILR on WP basis, 5 years need to be with one employer only??
I was given limited leave to remain with one employer for 2 years, after 6 months i changed my job and new employer got new WP and new leave to remain for 4 years was issued. I have not even a single day gap between both employments. As i approach completion of 5 years, will my 5 years be counted from the start of my first employment of second??
any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
kind regards

Quick question. 6 months + 4 years = 4.5 years

You need to complete five years with any employer witout gap. But since you will only have 4.5 years then you will need to re-apply for FLR. If approved, the you can apply for ILR. But by then Tiers will be applicable.

you need to complete 5 years on wp or tier or combination of both.... number of employers does not matter
