problem with entry clearance - pls help

Post by sue_01 » Mon Nov 24, 2008 11:43 am

I am looking to apply for my ILR next year and was looking at my work permit and entry clearance details and noticed that there might be an issue.

Work permit issued on 16th Aug
Entry clearance valid from 16th Sept
Date of entry into UK 6th Sept (also starting date of work)

Would this have an issue for me as my entry clearance was only valid from 16th Sept and I arrived and started work in UK on 6th Sept? I haven't noticed this until yesterday when I was getting things into order. Could someone please advise? Tks.

Is it possible that you entered on 16 but that the date was wrongly stamped or that the "1" was simply not visible or very faint? Do you have a corresponding exit stamp from where you came from?

Contact the UKBA office at the port where you arrived and ask them to investigate.

vinny, the date is definitely correct as 6th Sept as it was my date at work.

UKBAbble, i have tried calling the UKBA office no that is given on the website but the person didn't know how to answer me and told me to refer back to my embassy in my home country. i don't know how this is going to help me as it was 4 years ago.
