My sister-in-law has the BNO visa granted for 5 years for herself and 2 of her dependents (husband and daughter)
When they land at Heathrow airport, they were asked about the purpose of visiting the UK. They answered they are with a BNO visa and show the hard copies of confirmation emails.
After they have entered the UK, they found that they had got stamps on their passports saying they can only stay for 6 months. It was not expected as they should be able to stay for 5 years. As a BNO passport holder, they can enter UK for 6 months without applying for any visas. They suspect that the border control officer had made a mistake to let them enter the UK and granting the leave to remain for that 6 months only because of the passport but not with because of the visa they have been granted. They worried if they stay for more than 6 months, they will be regarded as overstaying. They have tried to contact the home office with the general inquiry hotline and they are suggested to contact the border force in Heathrow. But we can't find any contact email or number for this issue.
Any advice will be helpful. Thanks!
There are no vignettes on their BNO passports as they were told it is digital.
