Some clarifications required for my wife's application

I am almost finished with my wife's FLR (M) application but I would appreciate if someone could help clarify the below points for me and if I gave the correct response.

Time lived in UK?

My wife entered UK on 5 March 2021 on a Tier 2 dependant visa. In November both my parents tested positive for covid and she went back to care for them and provide support as I could not go. She came back to UK on 23 August 2022. She was out of UK for 9 months.

So given the above detail, what should I answer as this question, her time from when she first entered UK which is 1 year 8 months? or her actual time in UK excluding the back home visit which comes to 10 months.

Been out of UK being asked twice and answer is same?

The next question is to provide any absence details since first entering UK. I provided the above dates and also gave the reason of going back to care for her father in law and mother in law. But in the very next question the same thing is asked if she visited any country previously including home country... I gave the same answer as the above and same reason. Is this ok? I just found it strange that the same thing is asked twice.

Is this the first time you have applied for a partner route, or an extension, with your current partner

For this question I answered No, as her current visa is also Tier 2 dependant which is a partner visa. Is this correct?


Reason for extension

From the options which one should I chose, as Im not very sure here:

• First extension as a partner (following an initial period of entry as a partner, or as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner of a settled person)
• Additional extension as a partner
• First application as a partner from within the UK (for example, you are currently in the UK on another type of visa or permission to stay)

When did you start living together in a relationship?

I'm not very sure what is being asked here. We got married in December 2019 and then she came to my home to live with me. This was in our home country, where we got married. So to answer the above question I put the date December 2019.

But then I'm asked "Where have you loved together"?? what address is being asked here? The address of when we first lived together or current address where we are living together?


Accommodation Question. Own or Rent a home?

I rent my current flat from a private housing association. My wifes name is not on the tenancy agreement. Since this question is directed to my wife and not the husband (me). Should I answer Neither rent nor own? and then in the additional info mention that the tenancy agreement is in my husbands name and I live with him, and he rents the flat?

The above answer makes sense, but when I select this I am asked to upload proof of property ownership, copy of passport of owner and letter signed by property owner showing I have permission to stay here.

I have to provide all 3. Which is not possible nor required.

So should I say in this question, I rent even though it is the husband who rents?

Absences from the Uk since starting to live there and ever visting any country are two different things.

To the first question, you provide any details of absences from the UK since she arrived.

To the second question, you should also provide details if she, for example visited Dubai four years ago or Australia six years ago, etc.

This form also covers applications for unmarried partners who must have cohabited for at least two consecutive years. In many parts of the world, couples tend to live together for several years before getting married and they may consider their relationship to have started months or years before moving in together. The form is not culture-specific.

State the date when you consider your relationship to have started. If you had an arranged marriage, then state this and provide the official wedding date as start of relationship.

Provide any addresses where you have cohabited, whether that was in the UK or abroad.

Yes, that button available till 48hrs before appointment. Now it will be submitted for her by the UKVCAS personnel when she attends the appointment tomorrows.

Yes, that button available till 48hrs before appointment. Now it will be submitted for her by the UKVCAS personnel when she attends the appointment tomorrows.

Oh I did not know that.. I thought I could submit right up to the appointment.. I did not know that the submit button goes away 48 hours before.

This makes me nervous. Is this any problem in any way?

Should I take offline copies of the uploaded documents to be scanned there?

Would I need to pay for the document checking service now?
