Child's birth certificate with incorrect mother's name

Post by vinit_tyagi » Tue Jan 03, 2023 8:09 pm

Hi,
I am on ILR (T2G route) and applying for naturalisation online. I am also including my son in the application. Wife is also on ILR, but she is not applying for now.
I need to provide the son's birth certificate, which was issued in India as he was born in India. The certificate has my wife's nickname as well as real name like this : Nickname/RealFirstName RealLastName. Do you guys think it could be a problem if I provide this certificate? If yes, what other options do I have?
Thanks
Vinit

It should be fine. A birth certificate is a document that shows the record of the birth of a person, and also proves parental links. The HO has already accepted that XX is your son, they can't say XX isn't anymore. More so, it's just one extra name, not like the whole full name has changed.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
