Visit Visa for Mother - 10 years term

Post by bunnu123 » Wed Jan 04, 2023 2:10 am

Hi, My mother from Pakistan has visited me few times already here in UK. This time i have applied for 10 years to avoid applying every 1/2 years. I have 2 questions

1. Every time I applied before , She had to take print outs of every document with her to application centre. However this time i can see VFS global is offering option to upload documents. So just to confirm if i scan and upload all my documents and my mother documents on VFS site then she only needs to take her passport to application centre isn't ?

2. She is a widow, has an income in terms of rental property. I'm a British Citizen and sponsoring her and will cover all her expenses. Can you please let me know if there is any document i have missed or needs adding / not needed? Thanks
My Documents - Passport, Latest 1 bank statement to show savings, Mortgage statement to show my accommodation, A sponsorship Letter
Mother Documents - Passport, Tenancy Agreement to show her monthly income, Bank Statement to show her savings

Anything else please? Thanks

Only soft copies are needed. Save the planet.

Mother Documents - Passport, Tenancy Agreement to show her monthly income, Bank Statement to show her savings Use the same documents you've been using before. She has a good immigration history and wouldn't be scrutinized as intently like a fresher. 10 years saves all the hassles of paper work for a while. HO understands why you're doing it, that's why it's an option.

Anything else please? Thanks

Hi mate,

Good luck with the application. I am contemplating applying for a 10yrs visa for my parents as well. They have only visited once (and we had to go through PAP for approval!). Wondering if I should apply for 10yrs now or should I build up some 'track record' for them (consensus seems to be that whilst there's no rule against applying for longer straight after six months' visa, you are set to lose more in case it is rejected).

Be keen to see how your case progresses as well.

I'd highly recommend going for 2 year, 5 year then the 10 year to prove the immigration history to UKVI.

It's similar to the tier system for EU visit visas for non EU citizens.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.
