You may view it otherwise however you don't get to state that your application is not complex, HO who examining your documents, records etc for eligibility of your application decides this. And it may not be on what you are even thinking....could be on any other matter at that.Afroman23ay wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 8:02 pmGood evening,
I was wondering if someone would be able to help or put mind at rest. So I recently made ILR application on SET (M) to the Home Office using Super Priority service. After 24hrs of not receiving a response from UKVI, I rang them to escalate my case as I paid for priorty. 4 hrs later I got an email, with the following wordings "application raises exceptionally complex issues and we require further time to consider the case thoroughly and reach a decision". My application is a straighforward one but I have a feel the reason for not making a decision is because of the reason below.
When I got my first 2.5 years visa, Home office did not send my supporting document back on time, even though they sent my BRP, after 3 months of not receiving my supporting document, I got a very good job but they are asking for hard copy of my passport. I contacted UKVI and was told my document has been sent but i never receive it. My passport then was a new passport with a validity till October this year. So i reported the passport to the police station as lost and then got a new passport, the day I got the new passport, i received my missing document from Home office with my previous passport.
When I submitted my application for ILR, I included all the passport I have used in the UK, which include the missing passport that I found. Do you think, because the missing passport still have a validity till the end of this month and my new passport validity is Feb next year, Home office is taking it as though i applied with two valid passport. Just to note, my country embassy told me then, that they will cancel the missing passport so it is useless to me. I only included it in my application because i used it to get my first visa. throughout my 5 years route, i only travelled out of the country once for 5 night with my wife in 2019. Now i am worried they might not answer me until months as what I have been reading about the exceptional email from people on this forum is that it took UKVI months to answer them.
You are overthunking things, your worrying doesn't make the process faster.Afroman23ay wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 6:33 pmHello everyone.
No update yet from UKVI. Its over a week after I made the Super Priority application and I got the dreaded exceptionally complex issues email. Trying to think about the application and anything that can't be causing the delay apart from the passport issue and life in the UK issue I mentioned above. Do you guys think the following could be classified as an issue.
1. When I applied for my last 2.5 years in 2020 April, my partner and I were living with my mum and we were in the process of buying a house as well. Made the application middle April 2020 and submitted my document on UKVCAS. End of April 2020 we moved into our own house. Do you think UKVI have an issue with that cause I did not indicate on my application we getting a mortgage?. The checklist only said where you have live in the last 2.5 years and not future years. Though my mum provided a letter as we were still in her house then to say she is happy for us to still continue to stay in her house.
2. My wife is British and my son is British. My son is getting child benefit. The claim is on my name but the account the money is paid to is to my separate account. Been an accountant my wife trust me with money more than herself to save it up. Do you think that's a problem?.
Many thanks for you help.
Congratulations. Besides the successful email I hope you have got your documents back this time around.Afroman23ay wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 12:50 amApplication update.
Application type - ILR SET (M) Super Priority
Application date - 12/10/2022
Biometric date - 17/10/2022
Successful email - 03/01/2023
I got the dreaded exceptionally complex issues email 18/10/2022 and since then, I did not hear back from Home Office. I contacted my MP 08/11/2022 to help escalate my case to Home Office, got a reply the following day from the MP caseworker that they will escalate my case but since then never heard from the MP. So escalating with MP did not work for me.
Sent PAP to Home Office 13/11/2022 with 14 days deadline for them to response. Got a letter from Home Office 6/12/2022 responding to my PAP that my case is not straightforward and that they are waiting for response from other government bodies and external agencies. On the same day 06/12/2022 raised on complain and got a response back 14/12/2022 with the same wording on their PAP reply. I replied to the email explaining the issue with my lost passport and quoting dates with Police station I went to for them to confirm. I did not get a reply to the email. On 03/01/2022 sent an email to SETM email address asking what is causing the delays and explaining the passport issue to them. 3 hours after sending the email, I got the successful email. So not sure whether it was my explanation that helped the matter or they actually received response to the enquiry they were making.
