Hi,
Question 1
We am considering to apply for tourist visa for my uncle for 6 months from India - Delhi.
Is it mandatory to have funds in his accounts? If yes, how long should he have held thoes funds?
He has never travelled outside India.
Also - as a sponsor if funds and sponsorhip letter is provided by me ( British citizen) then the indian funds are required or can it be considered.
Question 2
For my father in law I am considering to apply for tourist visa for 10 years so we don't go throught the same process again and again. I filled the application form but no where it asked for duration of visa required or request. How do I apply this?
He has travelled to USA and UK earlier as well.
Appreciate any help on these.
Thanks
S

If he's never travelled to the UK before, then it doesn't help him if he had no funds in his account. 6 months statement of account would be requested from him as proof of funds. How else could he prove that he has enough money to afford the trip without planning to abscond in the UK. Every non-immigrant visa applicant is by default treated as a potential absconder. It's now up to the individual to prove that they wouldn't do a runner because they have a life back home.

Last I checked, he's your Uncle. CW would be thinking that something doesn't sound right. Why would you want to spend so much money on your uncle? Not saying you can't or won't as it might be a culture thing. But I certainly wouldn't. The case worker can only look at things from his own point of view and make a decision based on that.

When you want to pay, it would show the different payments (prices). 6 months, 2 years, 5 years and 10 years. You'd get what you pay for.
He has travelled to USA and UK earlier as well.
That helps. Hopefully his UK trip wasn't too long ago.
Appreciate any help on these.
Thanks

Not sure I completely understand the question. If you meant what entry date and exit dates you need to put on the form whilst filling it, then it has to be the date you plan on visiting the UK if visa is granted.
Exit should always be within 6 months of entry max. What you do after the first entry is now entirely up to you. But on each visit, 6 months max in the UK.
