Applying for Tier 1(General) - Documents Review

Post by kumarb0809 » Fri Nov 28, 2008 5:30 pm

Hi All,

I'm planning to apply for the Tier 1 Visa in December from Bangalore VFS. I'm in the process of preparing my documents. I've come up with the following list of documents:

A) Age - 20 points
1) Original Passport

B) Educational Qualifications - 35 points
1) Masters Degree from NIT Trichy
2) All 3 years Grades transcript.

C) Previous Earnings - 45 points
1) Payslips for last 12 months - stamped and signed letter from HR with all monthly payment details
2) Bank Statements for last 12 months - stamped and signed by the bank
3) Income Tax Returns for the last 3 years[/list]

D) English Language a. - 10 points
1) Masters Degree from NIT Trichy ( It is available in Self Assessment Tool)
Question here: Do I need to provide any letter from College/Uni? If yes, from which univ/college do I need to provide? UnderGraduation/Post Graduation?

E) Maintenance Funds - 10 points

1) Bank Statements for last 3 months - duly stamped and signed by
2) Letter from Bank saying that the funds are three months old.

Can you please go thru this list and tell me if I require anything more?

Thank you all in Advance
Kumar.[/b]

Hi Kumar
For ur question :
Question here: Do I need to provide any letter from College/Uni? If yes, from which univ/college do I need to provide? UnderGraduation/Post Graduation?
It is enough if you submit the Degree certificate alone( as ur university is listed in the PBS calculator). But to be on the safer side , try if u can get the English language certificate from ur Post graduation university. Guidance document clearly says , this letter is not needed. if u still persist to get the letter, u shld get it from ur post graduation university.
Other docs r appropriate. If u r planning to apply at Chennai VFS they will ask the following items
1. Accomodation proof
2. complete career details like resume, current and previous employer details. Pls carry all the documents pertaining to ur current and previous employers.

All the Best
Regards

hello kumarb0809 - your 12 months bank statements should be accompanied by a letter from the bank stating that the statements are genuine/authentic. I am assuming that what you have in hand are e-statements as you have stated 'signed and stamped' and hence the letter.

good luck with your application.

Thank you sv23367 and harakiri.

harakiri, I'm assuming getting the bank statements directly from bank printed on their stationery is enough. Please let me know, if this is not sufficient?

sv23367, I would arrange for accom proof letter as well.

one more question: Do they call the employer(HR) for the verification? because I'm not going to tell my HR that I'm applying for Tier 1 Visa. But if they call and tell her that I've applied for Tier 1, it would create problems for my current job.
Please let me know, how to handle this kind of situation.

Thank you all
Kumar

Statements on bank's original stationary (not e-statements) is fine, in this case no letter is required

Regarding verification, it only happens where BHC has genuine doubts on the documents submitted by the applicant. You also somehow need to take your HR into confidence that if some kind of verification call comes in then please do co-operate. There is no alternative to this that I see.
