Cash savings or income

Post by funexsvfx » Thu Feb 02, 2023 10:57 pm

Hi All,

I just about have the cash savings to meet the financial requirement alone. I also meet the income requirement but I’m currently a contract worker whose contract is ending fairly soon. Should I just rely on my cash savings as I feel the income side may open a can of worms given I may or may not be in a job at the time of application.

Use cash savings that is at or above £62,500 and held for 6 months preceeding the application date.

Employment on return to UK, using cash savings

Post by funexsvfx » Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:01 pm

Hi All,

My wife and I have been going through our online application and one of the questions asks ‘does *sponsors name* have a confirmed offer of employment in the UK starting within 3 months of their return?’

I have selected cash savings only in order to meet the financial requirement so I’m confused why this question is being asked, I thought this requirement is for UK citizens outside of the UK. Answering no to this question means I don’t need answering further irrelevant questions however, I don’t want to be answering anything unnecessary.

My wife as the applicant is outside the UK - perhaps this is the reason for the question…

Any help on this would be great, thanks

Not seeing the application so may not be able to pinpoint why. Could you go through earlier questions on application hope it's not that you answered a question like you are outside ofUK and returning with spouse or Could be the cash savings triggered the question.
If not the former then a cover note to CW explaining you are in UK should cover
