Hello, I hope you are well.

I am currently in the process - application under review so attended the biometric appointment.
When can I request a name change? first name change
I cannot hold dual citizenship so will only be holding UK citizenship once issued. I will need to declare that I give up on my original. I understand that the name change won't be allowed once the naturalisation certificate is issued?

Can anyone advise me on what I can do?

You misunderstand: once you are British you are free to change your name as you wish, by deed poll. The naturalisation certificate shows your name as it was at the time you became British. And you need to get a British passport with your name as is on the certificate. After that look at name changes.

Your flag shows USA. Americans are allowed to hold multiple citizenships, just saying. Except there's another reason which is personal.
