Fiancee Visa - Processing times

Post by potsy1966 » Mon Dec 01, 2008 4:44 pm

Does anyone know the current processing times in Canada at the moment for a fiancee visa please? We are on business day 14 and still not heard.

Thanks

That is slow for Canada, where did you file the application?
I would expect it to turn around in 10 working days if it is being dealt with by a main office.

It was logged by BHC Ottawa on 12th Nov as starting processing. It is for the settlement one where she can marry me, stay in the UK and apply for spousal - VHF4 i think. Someone said there was a delay to tier visas launched 27th Nov? If there had been a problem surely we would have heard by now? No news good news?

Read your other post.
The issue might well be the lack of the actual divorce papers for her. The clock really only started ticking once they received that document. I think you will have to wait a few more days. Better than getting a refusal!

The check list seemed pretty good to me. Her bank account is a fairly minor point BUT have seen it refused in the past. Hope you have good luck on your side. Given it is North American app you get more benefit of the doubt than a good chunk of the rest of the globe.

Wish you luck.

Thanks loads - this really is making us both ill! Will not be happy to be refused on that given the amount she has & that i earn. Do you know if it would make a difference not including her birth certificate, just a copy seeing as they have her passport so is obviously Canadian?

One question you or anyone may know is do refusals come early? ie: surely if the required docs where not there we would have known by now?

Thanks again

When you say copy birth certificate you mean a copy issued by the registrar, not a photo copy? If it is the former not the latter that will not be a problem.

I would not get too wound up, if everything is as you say you are more than 90% down the route to the visa being issued. The divorce papers were a serious barrier, without that you would have been refused without a doubt. Have you confirmed they have received the papers tho?
