1 month off due to sickness spouse visa extension

Post by Ahlahana » Thu Mar 30, 2023 2:15 pm

Hello,
Please I need urgent help as the time is finishing, well I am on spouse visa and it's expiring next month, so we were going to apply normally with the last 6 payslips but unfortunately my husband fell ill this month and he will receive less than half of his salary, so I read on this board that we will have to submit the last 6 months before his sick period, my question is how we will inform them in the application about his sick period, should we write a cover letter or something like that ? And should we give them the payslip of this month where he is off sick?

Meeting the financial requirements is a point that has no flexibility so doubt it explaining will sway the decision makers.
The lowest salary is what will be used in assessing the income requirements.
Do you have another income in the household beside that of your husband that can be used (based on providing 6months payslips and bank account statements) to shore up the shortfall occasioned by the ill health?

Hi thanks for your reply, no unfortunately we don't have any other source of income, but I read on the gov pdf that you can use the period before the sponsor fell ill to show income.
