Employment Details Naturalisation Application

Post by MrsDuck » Sun Mar 19, 2023 1:23 pm

Hi everyone, I recently went self-employed in November 22 and am in the process of registering for self-employment on gov.uk.

1. I am self-employed as an individual. Thus I am not too sure what to put for 'Employer Name' and 'Employer or Business Address'. As of now I just put 'NA' for Employer Name and my home address for Business Address, in which the latter in theory is correct as that is where I sort the invoice out, tax etc. However I am not sure if it is appropriate?

2. As I have not filed any tax return, I believe I just leave 'Tax Office Reference Number' empty?

3. For the declaration I have to tick that I could provide 'the most recent tax year account statement and corresponding HMRC tax return as proof of self-employment' but I will not have that. Do I still tick it?

Sorry for the long paragraph and I really really appreciate your help. Thank you very much in advance.

Should be fine if home address is your business, then fill it in.

3. For the declaration I have to tick that I could provide 'the most recent tax year account statement and corresponding HMRC tax return as proof of self-employment' but I will not have that. Do I still tick it? You can't as you don't have one, add a covering note to your documents to explain.

No that long ... please post further queries in this thread.

Thank you very much! I have written a cover letter as advised.

I hope you don't mind me having few more queries.

I have submitted the application and registered with UKVCAS. I also started uploading documents. There is an option for booking biometrics. I have read here and there that if my last biometrics were recent (in my case it was late 2021), there will be an option to do through IDV app (Does this mean I can't use IDV as there's an option for biometrics?. I don't know whether I should book the appointment on UKVCAS website or should I just wait for the potential email from IDV? I'm not fuss either way I just don't want to make a mistake by booking on UKVCAS.

Many thanks and regards!

If the option available is to book appointment go ahead and do so, may end up being better option.

Lovely thank you! I received an email straight after payment saying if you receive an email about 'Important information about your application to UKVI' and I was waiting for an email (only for a day) but haven't got anything. Whilst the appointment is available to book so I got confused, I just wonder whether to wait to see if any email will be coming but guess I'll just go for the appointment!

Thanks again!
