I could not find a definitive answer for this anywhere and when I called the gov help line, they also weren't confident in their answer.
I have completed my ILR application, there is a section on Life in the UK and I have selected 'no' to completing the test. I can then see the below message.
"You must take and pass the Life in the UK test in order to apply for settlement or citizenship"
I'm booked to do the test in 3 weeks time, but my question is, can I still submit my application and pay the application fee?
I get to the end, and I'm still allowed to hit finish and pay. I'm nervous of doing this, in case I void the application for some reason.
