Date qualify for ILR

Post by drsandeep » Mon Jun 12, 2023 11:50 pm

Hi all.
Apologies if this has been asked before. I tried to search but couldn’t get answer.
Date of application for my first visa was 25/07/2018
Entered UK on 04/08/2018.
I think I am eligible for ILR on 27/06/2023 based on date of application.
Do I need to put ‘date you entered’ ( date on which you want to base your eligibility period) as 25/07/2018 or 04/08/2018?
Thanks.

*Which* visa are you applying on the basis of? The rules are different for spouse of a British citizen visa, Skilled Worker visa, Skilled Worker dependent visa, etc.

And if the question is which "date you entered", type in the date stamped on your passport as the date of *entry*.

Thank you.
I am applying on the basis of Tier2 (skilled worker).
Also ‘country you have lived in, no mater how short the stay was’.
I have visited USA a few times in the past for 2-3 months each time as tourist on tourist visa. I guess that doesn’t count as ‘living’ and I don’t have to mention those visits, am I correct? ( these visits were before 5 years in UK)

As you've rightly deduced, those are visiting, not living.

But you do have to consider your USA trip as absence and hopefully it would not exceed your 180 allowance for every 12 months period.

OP has already stated that
( these visits were before 5 years in UK)
how can they be absences?
