Asylum seeker with British child

Hi, I am asylum seeker, but I got British child as well with me, my child got British citizenship recently, now I want to switch from asylum to family visa on the basis of British child parent, can I switch from asylum to flrfp, or do I just need to update my asylum application and mention hone office that my child is british now.
What can be best option for me.

You need a passport to apply for FLRFP. The HO would probably have seized your passport when you applied for asylum. Now what you're saying to the HO is that I'm no longer in danger, give me my passport.
That could trigger all sorts of chain reaction.

Not sure there's any advantages to it, except for visiting your home country.
