Spanish Embassy London - Urgent Please Help

Post by NOG » Mon Dec 08, 2008 11:05 pm

I've got an appointment at the Spanish embassy in London tomorrow (9/12/08), and am wondering if I will get my visa by the 16th Dec 2008 as that is when I have my trip booked. Anyone know the visa processing time? I've had luck at the French embassy and Dutch in the past where they asked me to collect it the next day.

I am an India national and my paperwork is spot on, I've got a Schengen visa numerous times in the past but never at the Spanish embassy. I would like to hear from any people who know about the Spanish consulate in London.

Regards,
Nog :?

By far the most ridiculous and unprofessional embassy there is. I was in utter disbelief the way they treat people at the Spanish embassy in London. Visit Spain, My a.$$. Wouldn't ever want to go back to get a visa here, its a shame I have to visit for work.

 highly unlikely

Compared to the french and dutch, even the Italians, this embassy is beyond words to describe inefficiency. arrogant jokers.

No seems them never issue it quickly. My trip is booked for next week and the bloke who interviewed me asked me to come back in 2 weeks upon which I told him I'm booked to fly on the 17th Dec. He said (..and these are the exact words) 'ahhhh you know we don't know about that, go and ask there' pointing to a counter near the entrance where they check you appointment letters and collect passports! I asked the dude on the counter and he said go and ask the guy who interviewed you. Then he said you can keep coming back everyday to check till you leave! Which means, first, I take days off from work to attend this circus , and then pay £20 for a travel card to come into London, everyday. I'm telling you they're smoking some crazy thing down at that embassy.

The whole place is in shambles. They treat people like each and every one applying has been convicted for rape.

An additional word of warning. The Spanish embassy have the habit of giving you a date to collect your visa (usually at least a week after the inteview), and when you return...it's not been processed. Last Summer my husband waited 3 months for the 1st available appointment, and was given the usual run around with the date to return...then still not ready.

unfortunately I am aware of this. I have to leave on Wednesday and will go to the embassy on Monday to see if they've got it ready but am not getting my hopes up high. I will never ever set foot at that embassy in the future. Avoid like the plague !

They'll only let you in if you have an appointment. Have you already made one?
