Best way to list absences?

Post by rkirill » Sun Jul 23, 2023 3:31 pm

Hi all,

I’m working on my ILR application and would appreciate some help with absences section.

I have around 60 absences to list and during many of these absences I visited multiple countries.

Web application form only allows to select one country per entry so my plan is to put a couple of absences in the application itself and then attach an excel table with all the other absences. In this table for each entry I have departure/arrival dates, list of countries visited and an indication whether a trip was personal or business or combination of both.

Would that be acceptable? In this case do I just attach a file with this table or I also need to indicate somewhere in the application that I’m attaching it? And should I add some sort of the cover letter to describe why I’m attaching the file instead of specifying this all on the application?

Thanks in advance.

UKVI does not care about the details of your travel. The fact that you visited multiple countries and for what reason or what you did is irrelevant. They only care about the periods of absence from the UK. You do not need to provide extensive details of your travels. Simply use the first country you flew to and provide minimal information. A visa application is not a full disclosure, so only relevant information is required to be provided

Thank zimba.

Application form allows to input only 30 absences so I still have half of absences to mention. What's the best way to handle this? Do I add a document with a list of another 30 or I just put all absences in this document including the ones I've already mentioned the application? And do I need to refer to this attachment either anywhere in the application or in a separate cover letter?

Thanks again for the help.

Create an Excel document and upload it as part of your documents. That is all

Thanks zimba. Just to clarify, should this excel document be referenced in the application somehow as I do not see any additional information sections in the online application?

All uploaded documents will be seen by the caseworker. No need to do anything extra
