Decision Made to passport collection...

We made application for family 6 month visit visa in June, biometrics done 8th July.

GWF tracking status now shows "Decision made 4th August and you will be contacted by email or text to collect passport".

However its been 10 days no contact. Also when application was submitted or biometrics were done we had no emails/text notifications.

Is it usual to receive no communication after submitting app or biometrics?

I've seen on timelines posts and couple days after decision made, applicants are contacted to collect their passport.

I want to understand the process best as possible before I call UKVI.

Sometimes there is a length of time between what tracking status shows and when you get email on decision or to pick up passport/documents.
Calling UKVI numbers which are outsourced may turn.out to be a waste of time and or resources as you will most likely not learn anything extraordinary.
Exercise patience till you are contacted to pick up form VAC.
