Stop by UK Border Force

Hi

I am british citizen i was stop by UK border force at airport on my way back to Manchester airport along with my family officer says i need to check something after 15 minutes comes back and return my passport and says you can go. Its worth mention that i use one of my british passport for 10 years which is expire now before that i was regularly stop upon my return to UK than I approach my MP after that Director General UK Border Force issue letter in my favour that nobody will stop myself in future than no one stop for ten years after expiry of my passport and issueance of new passport i have two trips to abroad nobody stop me but at this time they stop me i approach MP again after 10 years MP staff understanding may be your old history comes up again after issuance of new passport
I am to much frustrated why this is happening again

Annoying I understand - however, UK Border Force are allowed to stop any traveller, including British citizens.
Not sure why the Director General would issue such a categoric statement.
