Dependent naturalisation

Post by Aab1988 » Thu Sep 21, 2023 12:40 am

I want to ask regarding my wife’s visa. She was on tier 2 entrepreneur visa and got her ILR 3 months back. I got my British nationality in 2021. Is she applicable to apply for naturalisation immediately or she has to complete a year of ILR before applying for naturalisation. And how long does it normally take to apply

if she is married to a British citizen (which you are, after naturalisation), she can apply immediately after ILR and does not need to wait for a year. Her path to ILR is irrelevant.

She needs to meet the three year physical presence and absences requirements.

How long is a piece of string?

It can take a couple of months to a few months to a year or more. It depends on her immigration journey, her history in the UK, the casework load in the Home Office, and many other factors of which we have no idea.
