Hi all and thanks for previous suggestions, I'm also applying for BC for my children under 18, born in UK.

1.whats the visa category, Is it - (Apply for registration of a child under 18 as a British citizen.

2. I have started the application and bit confused by the below question

Are you relying on your parent's permanent residence (either as an EEA National or the family member of an EEA National) as evidence of their settled status in the United Kingdom?

I'm an Indian national and bit confused by the statement as it seems contradictory parents permanent residence vs EEA national

Permanent residence is not the same as ILR in this context - it's a status issued to EEA nationals after 5 years residence in UK under EU regulations. This does not apply to you, since you're an Indian national - not EEA.

Just to add a bit of context here: the old PR status that used to be issued under EU regulations has no legal status in the UK anymore since the UK left the EU on 1 Jan 2021. That question therefore is a legacy left from the old days. All EEA citizens and their family members who used to hold EU residence permits in the UK, must obtain ILR status under the EU settlement scheme (under the UK immigration rules Appendix EU) as proof of their settled status. This means that holding ILR is evidence of settled status under UK immigration rules, whether you are an EEA citizen or a non-EEA citizen.

Hello again, I'm filling MN1 FORM for British citizenship for my two children aged 1 and 4 years. However I'm unable to get a suitable professional referee i.e. Teacher, health visitor etc.

1.In this instance can I provide referee as a non professional but person having British citizenship.

Secondly, if I were to able to secure a professional reference let's say of that a teacher, can that same person provide reference for both my children or does it have to be two separate references
