Daughter no longer child on ILR- naturalisation question

Post by zimchic » Wed Nov 08, 2023 11:33 pm

my daughter arrived in the UK on the 18th of November 2018 and was issued a dependant visa due to me her mom being a British Citizen via naturalisation, her BRP card states Indefinite leave to enter and expires in 2024. She was born abroad and came here when she was under 18yrs. As she is classed as an adult now when can she apply for naturalisation? She has lived continuously in the UK for 5yrs which will fall on 18th Nov 2023. I have tried to look on threads of answer unfortunately cannot find. Will she need to wait another 12 months or apply soon? Your help is much appreciated.

Does she have ILR?
If so she needs to wait 12 months after getting her ILR.

ILE is the same as ILR. So no application for ILR required.

If she meets the requirements for naturalisation (five years of residence in the UK, ILR/ILE for at least one year, language test and LITUK test), then yes.

If she has not completed her graduation, she will need a language test. And she will also need to complete an LITUK test.
