Overpaid Taxes never claimed

Post by Theseus1 » Mon Nov 13, 2023 1:05 am

Hello,

I hope you can help me as I have the appointment with the UKCVAS in the next few days. I am about to send all the documents for the residence for the past 5 years in the UK.
I just realized that my Tax Return for the year 2019/2020 indicates a tax rebate of over £2000+, although I received less than £1000 in that year.
My old accountant told me at that time to ignore that tax rebate as he believed was the result of adjustments to my tax code until they could verify that it was genuine and due back to me.
As I have no intention to ask for any overpaid tax, do you think it may impact my application? If this is the case, can I ask what you recommend for my case, please?
Any help or suggestion will be very helpful.
Thank you again for your help :D

Note there are no financial requirements for naturalisation, i.e. how much or how little you get paid or pay in taxes etc.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.
