Hsmp holder, applying for visa for my mum

Post by saayinla » Fri Dec 19, 2008 10:12 pm

I am on Hsmp visa with my wife and kid, we are expecting another baby, I want my mum to come and help with the child care, my question is, is it possible to apply for a dependent visa based on my HSMP or must she apply as a visitor, casue she ll be staying for at least 1 year.
I have a permanent job and have a good balance in my account.

Please advise

Cheers

There are alot of factors to be taken in to account? Is she your dependant because unless she is she will not qualify for a visa. As a visitor 6 months is the max. There are no provisions for family members to come for 'childcare'.

Okay thanks for that. I guess the maximum she can stay at any one time is 6 months. I might have no other option really, its more like a visit actually
