Issue with “Present address” in renewing Indian passport

Hi, I am living in UK on visa with Indian passport. My passport is about to expire and want to renew. As I am living in UK, I want my new passport to be sent to my UK address. In my passport renewal application, when I try to enter my UK address in the present address, I get error saying pin code can be only in numbers. Postcode in UK will be like “AB12 4CD”, not like 515901 like in India. I am sure for 1000s of Indian people living in UK, this will be the case.

I don’t have any issue with permanent address, can provide my Indian address and relevant utility bills.
