Naturalisation for child born outside UK

Post by entrepy » Mon Dec 25, 2023 2:16 pm

Hi,

I would highly appreciate if you could help me to confirm whether I am applying on the correct route.

Me, my wife and my child all received ILR in April 2023. Now I want to apply for Naturalisation for my child as both parents have ILR. As I understand my child doesn't need to complete 12 month period after obtaining ILR to apply for Naturalisation.

I would be more than happy if you can provide some guidance here.

Many thanks.

Naturalisation is for adults, the only route.
There's only one route for children - register as British on form MN1 - guidance:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... 1-guidance
There's no waiting period for children. Recommend you review the guidance to understand the process.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

There's no waiting period for children.
But what would be the basis for it? That's more of a question for me, not for OP, but by the guidance, the only applicable option is "children with settlement and residence", which requires a year of waiting on ILR, unless im missing something?
