Different ways to get a visa

Post by PavelMonet » Thu Jan 04, 2024 7:02 pm

Good evening everyone,

My wife and I are Ukrainians, currently residing in the UK under "Homes for Ukraine" visas. In light of the upcoming changes to the Skilled Worker visa rules, we are planning to transition to the Skilled Visa at the earliest opportunity, before the new rules take effect.

We are exploring two transition options, but there are numerous nuances that we find challenging to navigate. We kindly seek your assistance as the questions are intricate.

1. My wife is currently a trainee dental nurse in the UK, studying in college for obtaining a Dental Nurse qualification.
She has successfully completed the first NEBDN (National Examining Board for Dental Nurses) exam and is preparing for the second one, scheduled before spring. As the diploma for Dental Nurse may not be issued by then, can my wife apply for a Health and Care Worker visa as a Trainee Dental Nurse?

2. If a Health and Care Worker visa application is possible, can her currently education and the successful completion of the first NEBDN exam serve as proof of English language proficiency when applying for the visa? She has received the exam results via email from NEBDN.

3. I am currently employed on a fixed-term contract set to finished in October 2024, with a planned extension until October 2025.
My profession is a Housing Support Worker in the UK with the code 3234 (note: the list specifies Housing Support Officer, but I believe this is not a significant issue).
Can I apply for a Skilled Worker Visa for five years, considering my current fixed-term contract ending in October 2024?

4. Regarding my salary under the "Skilled Worker visa: the going rate for eligible occupation codes" is listed as £24,900.
Will this amount be sufficient to earn 20 points for the salary requirement when applying for a Skilled Worker Visa? Or is a salary of £26,200 necessary to secure the 20 points?

Thank you for your assistance in clarifying these matters.

Kind regards,
Pavlo
