ILR timelines - Eligibility

Post by tjv » Mon Jan 08, 2024 3:12 pm

Dear moderators,

Thanks for all the good work on these forums to help others. It has been very helpful to understand various rules & how to respond to certain situations.

Could you please help me with calculating my ILR eligibility. Details as below:

1) T2 ICT short term visa valid from 10Jul2015, entered UK on 01Aug2015
- Valid till 09Jul2016, exited UK on 9th night.
2) T2 ICT long term visa valid from 23Aug2016, re-entered UK on 05Sep2016
-Valid till 01Sep2024 through multiple extensions (name changed to Global Mobility now)

Am I right in calculating my ILR eligibility as eligible (10 year route?)on 12Jun2025?

Also, as my GM visa will end this sep, is there any other option other than switching to SW to satisfy the ILR eligibility? Please advise.

Under the long residence, your qualifying period starts from the first entry to the UK, so you will qualify end of June 2025 which would be within 28 days of completing your qualifying period.

Thanks Zimba. Didn't realize that date of entry is considered for long residence.
10 month's shortage for ILR then which I have to secure in another visa type (I cannot get a Global Mobility extension is my understanding as they will consider the ICT ST visa also under max 9 yes in 10 years rule here).

Yes, you need to switch to another route to reach the required qualifying period. Plan accordingly
