ILR for a refugee

Post by shylady » Thu Jan 11, 2024 12:39 am

Hello Gurus

I have an inquiry for a friend

He has refugee status for 5 years and due to ILR.
He came into the country as an UASC and now 20 years old
He has been in foster care and now a care leaver

I know there is no fees applicable.

What documents does he need to provide with the ILR SET (P)?

I am aware of
travel documents
BRP
photos
online application

Is there anything else he needs to provide

I would appreciate the expertise advise on this.

Thank you
shylady

ILR for a refugee - Proof of ID

Post by shylady » Fri Jun 21, 2024 11:26 pm

Hello respected gurus

If one applies for ILR as a refugee online and used the app to prove the identity (BRP and photo via the app), will he need to go for fingerprints at later date?

Thank you in advance

No. If you applied via the app, then your Biometric details held on the UKVI system will be reused

Good evening respected Gurus

My friend has now got his Indefinite leave to remain after 5 years on Refugee status. Yay :D

When he was on refugee status. he had got a Travel Document (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Travel document (Convention of 28th July 1951). This document expired when his Refugee Resident permit expired. I presume this is for Refugees only(?)

What sort of travel document can he now apply for now (between now an getting naturalisation and British passport).

As always, your valued advised and comments are very highly appreciated .

Kind regards
shylady
