British national referee longevity

Hi guys, I could not find answer to this question anywhere.
For a British passport holder referee, does it matter how long they have been a British national/passport holder? Can I still use them if they only became a British national themselves just one year ago?

Yes!!!

What matters is that referee is British - British means British whether from birth or since last week.
