Hi
I applied for my wife's naturalisation in October 2023, and recently, the Home Office reached out, seeking clarification on her name at birth. Her current documents (passport, bills, UK NARIC, etc.) all state her name as DHK. However, her academic degree and certificates include a middle name, listed as DHAK, which incorporates her father's middle name.
The Home Office is asking for confirmation on the correct name or if there was a different name at birth. I'm considering explaining the situation, that during my academic years my father's middle name was included in my name, as reflected on my degree and certificates. However, since it's not my actual middle name but rather my father's, I chose not to include it in my current documents, such as IDs and other official records.
Would this be an appropriate response?
Any advice or suggestions on how to handle this would be greatly appreciated.
