No proof type B

Post by octavia » Sun Jan 21, 2024 5:25 pm

Hello,
I just wanted to ask I am applying for Irish citizenship soon and have no proof of residency from the type B. No credit card, no mortage then I have been renting a room in a landlords house since 2017 so I don't have any written rental agreement as it was said verbally, and all bills included in my rent are paid in the landlords name.
From type A I can provide employment detail summary for 5 years and could I provide them bank statements for full 5 years with affidavit template fully explaining my situation instead of proof from the type B? Also I don't have POS transactions in bank statement but it is reporting salary and atm domestic withdrawal.
Thank you in advance

You can’t used double Type A to make up for B. They specifically need two different types because they represent different forms of activity. In any case bank statements without POS activity don’t qualify as type A, so can’t be submitted.

Renting a room from a live in landlord doesn’t legally require any registration and so is a valid reason to use an affidavit. Submit your type A and an affidavit explaining you rent a room. Add a signed letter from your landlord confirming this, that you have no lease or bills and include dates you’ve lived there. Upload a utility bill with your landlords name and address as proof of their identity.

Helllo again,

I wanted to ask if I submit this affidavit with a letter from landlord does it need to be notarized? Because the template of this affidavit doesn't mention ithat. Only that has to be completeky filled and dated and signed.

The online form a reasonably good at specifying what is needed. So when something is not requested it isn’t required. Only birth certs and passports need certifying, affidavit doesn’t need certifying.
