Set(M) Work with current employer less than 6 months

Post by Moshi » Mon Jan 22, 2024 3:16 pm

I'm applying for the IRL Set(M).

I recently changed my job and will have been working here for three months by the time I apply. I would like to get some advice for the finance section regarding the documents I need.

The timeline is as follows: I worked with Company A for over three years and was made redundant in May 2023. After a five-month gap, I secured a job at Company B in October 2023. I am applying in January 2024.

Thank you

You need to apply under category B and satisfy the requirements in two parts:

1) Your annualised income from your most recent job should be above the threshold (£18,600+)
So all salary earned in your most recent job divided by the period in which it was earned, then multiplied by 12 must be above (£18,600+)
AND
2) In the last 12 months, you have earned in total, at least the minimum salary needed (£18,600+), so all income earned in the least 12 months from any job held

Hi Zimba,
Thanks a lot.

I have prepared the following documents:

1. My payslips for 3 months (November 2023 to January 2024) from Company B, along with a letter confirming their authenticity.
2. My payslips for 4 months (February 2023 to May 2023) from Company A, accompanied by a letter confirming their authenticity.
3. My bank statements showing salary deposits for the past 12 months.
4. My bank statements for another savings account, also covering the past 12 months.
After calculating, I have confirmed that my income is above the required threshold. Do I need any additional evidence?

Regarding the question in the application, 'Which types of income will you rely on to meet the financial requirement?', should I only tick 'employment', or should I select 'employment and savings'?"

Thank you

You do not need additional evidence. As you are not relying on any savings, just choose employment
