Apply for ILR partner and dependent visas

Hi there, hope someone can offer some advice as i am puzzled.

I have partner visa since jan 2019 and now eligible to apply for ILR on 5 yr route.

My 2 sons had dependent visas on family 5 yr route in line with mine since they were 17 when they applied in 2019 and 2020. They turned 18 in 2019 and 2020, respectively. When the 3 of us applied for LTR visas in 2021, I was granted partner LTR visa 5 yr route while my 18+ sons, not living independent life, were granted private life LTR visas on 10 year route.

i asked HO why they were changed from 5yr family route to 10 yr private life route thru my MP. The HO reply was that the decision is maintained to keep them on 10 yr PL route without explaining the reason as to why.

So my query is if I can add them as dependents on my ILR application even though the HO insists they are on the 10 yr private life route. They meet all the requirements as dependents, such applied for dependent family visa at 17, not leading independent life as they are living at home when not in uni, passed life in uk test and fulfil English requirements.

When you renewed their Visas in 2021, did you add their requirements for English (like B1, Uni degree)? If you didn't, that's probably where you got it wrong.

If the HO has put them on 10 years, I doubt if you trying to the 5 year route to ILR would work. Unfortunately, they call the shots, not you.
