My husband has taken a second wife who is a perpetrator of honour abuse

Post by Shireen5000 » Sat Feb 03, 2024 4:46 am

My husband brought his second wife to the uk in May 2023. She is here on a student visa. She is not studying in her chosen university in Glasgow and living 5 minutes away from me here in the south of England. She is a perpetrator of honour abuse to me since 2014 as he she niece by marriage. She has already tried again to poison me here in the UK and police are involved. Her influence has also caused him to start domestic abuse with me (financial, emotional, physical once). Her only intention is to finish what was started in Pakistan but never finished. Her and her sister poisoning me in Pakistan to cause harm and intent to kill.

My husband filed for our divorce in 2020 but said he did it out of anger and not to respond as I was dealing with PTSD which caused me gamble which is haram. Which also provoked this women and only a few of the family members to use it against me as I was causing shame to family. Even though other family members did not see it like that. I was told by him that he revoked it. So I believed him. He even got rid of my respondent form and the paper version of our divorce

He was forced into this marriage with her and still treating me as wife still doing everything a husband and wife does including raising our two children.

Her visa is running out so he decided to go for entitlement of decree which will be announced for 07/02/2024.

I have a civil marriage with my husband in the UK and Nikah in Pakistan. He keeps saying to me he only wants to divorce to keep her in the UK but will not islamically divorce me.

I do not want to divorce until every option is exhausted and he has proven to fairly divorce me the Islamic way first.

She is making me feel extremely unsafe in my own home country I was born here and lived here most of my entire life.

At the moment I can not see the light at the end of the tunnel nor do I know what I should. Is there any advice to help me in this complex situation.

Are you or your husband on a spouse visa? Or in the U.K. under some other form of immigration route? If the answer is no then there is nothing this forum can offer you in the way of immigration advice that will resolve your personal issues.

I know of at least one Glasgow university that has a London campus so that in itself is not an issue. As long as she is attending then there will not be an immigration issue there.

As for the other information- you are already dealing with the police. I would strongly suggest you get a family lawyer involved to protect your rights and family assets.

Thank you but her university does not have a London campus as some of my family members have attended there. My husband now does have a British citizenship but that’s only because of me and him having a spousal visa from me which he stated to me that he only married me to get British citizenship which after many years of marriage and a child together and admitted he used me to get the British citizenship

As both you or your husband have British citizenship there are no immigration issues to be resolved.
As advised previously - please seek professional legal advice on the other matters. Get the best family lawyer you can afford and rinse him for everything.

As for the divorce - he is mucking you about, to suit his own purposes. The religious element has no validity in U.K. law so once the divorce is finalised from a legal point of view he would be free to marry again in the U.K.
