Visa renewal coming up and brp and passport names different. Problem?

Post by Sanguinevxv » Sun Feb 04, 2024 9:02 am

My wifes spouse visa renewal is coming up April 2024.

She got a new passport in her married name August 2023. We were married in 2020, she just never updated her passport name until then.

Her brp is in her maiden name. Looking online it seems we should have informed the gov about the change but we didn't.

What should we do with her current visa about to expire? Will this be a problem for the extension?

She's a Philippines national and we are living in the UK.

Just a thought. If she went back to the embassy and got another passport again but back to her maiden name, would that work? If this is a big problem

Not needed at all. In the UK you are allowed to use either name legally. There is no issue whatsoever
