Absence duration on expired passport

Post by rakimmn » Tue Feb 06, 2024 10:01 pm

Hello,

My qualifying period of 5 years starts in Feb 2019, I had travels outside the uk for that year and then renewed my passport in jan 2020

When I filled the online application it only asked me for my current passport - didnt ask me for the expired

However, as per my understanding the passport will get scanned to cross-check stamp/travel times spent outside the uk against what I provided in the application

Should I also provide copies of my expired passport pages that show my travels in 2019?

Thanks

Yes, scan that passport too as evidence of residence.

The expired passport has no UK stamps due to being on EU residence permit.
I'm only concerned about the asbsense duration for 2019 which is on the expired passport.

If your passport doesn't get stamped (even just for part of the qualifying period) you need provide other proof of residence, eg council tax or P60.

Thanks for your reply, but I do not think you understand my query, its not about residency I do have council tax for all qualifying period, it is regarding the absences outside the uk where you calculate days and provide countries you visited.

basically 2019 travels are on an expired passport - do I need to provide scans of it? so home office can verify that i didn't spend more than 450 days outside the uk

For absences you just state duration of travel etc (excluding outbound/return days).
No need to scan stamps to prove that travel dates are correct.
UKVI probably have that data on their own systems.
Only provide documents that are actually required by the application.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

You need to enter dates of your trips (outbound and return), the online form will prompt you to do that. If you provide proof of residency with council tax your expired passport isn't necessary.
