Query reg MN1 registration for my child

Hello dear moderators,

My wife recently got her ILR approved and we are planning to register our child (born in the UK) as a British Citizen via form MN1.

I have the following queries with regards to it:

1. My plan has plans to travel to India after applying for form MN1 for my child while we await his registration certificate? Is my child allowed to do so?

2. If the answer to the above question is yes, and if my child is granted the MN1 certificate whilst he is in India, can he apply for his British passport from India or does he have to return to the UK and then apply?

3. In one of the mandatory docs, its mentioned to upload a document confirming parental responsibility of both the parents. Just wanted to understand as to what documents prove parental responsibility?

2. If the answer to the above question is yes, and if my child is granted the MN1 certificate whilst he is in India, can he apply for his British passport from India or does he have to return to the UK and then apply? You will need his registration certificate, which I believe you need to get in the UK. If this is not the case keep in mind that passport applications from abroad are known to take a long time so your child might be stuck there for a while.

If your child has a dependant visa that allows your child to re-enter the UK, then you can travel with a rest of mind.

If you don't have any visa of sorts, then you are taking a risk. Child could be stuck of there for 6 months or more easily.

Nothing is guaranteed to have a smooth transition.
