"Original Source of deposited fund" - Student Dependent Visa

Post by GBkhatri » Tue Feb 27, 2024 11:20 am

Hi everyone,

I arrived on the UK on Nov 2023 with my wife, but we didn't bring our son who was 26 months old at that time.

I applied for my son's Student Dependent Visa on 22nd February 2024 from outside the UK. On 23rd February, I got an email from UKVI saying :

"The UK Decision Making Centre is currently assessing the application submitted by the above named. We are unable to conclude the application at this time as we require additional information.
Please provide the following documents:
Documents that demonstrate the original source of the ******* deposit made to your ******* bank account with account number ******* on 21/01/2024. "

The source of the fund was a deposit made by my father in law. The source of fund was a sale of land. I have now submitted a letter from my father in law saying the deposited fund was a gift to us ( me and my wife ), documents ( original and translated+notarized) to prove the sale of land, tax paid documents, photo of cheque deposited by buyer, statement from banks, everything. My question is :

1. How likely is the visa after such an email from UKVI?
2. Do they review everything and ask for all documents at once, or is there a chance that if they are satisfied with this response, they will review the other parts of applications and ask for documents again?

Thank You.

Hello Everyone,

A quick update on this situation.

So my son's biometric was last Thursday, a Non-Straightforward email was sent of Friday and a next email followed the same day asking for the source of fund that was shown in my bank account. I sent all the supporting documents on following Sunday, and the visa was granted on Thursday.

So for anyone who are or will be in situation like this, although they say they won't be able to make a decision within 15 days due to the situation being " Not Straightforward " , you can expect a quick decision if documents are provided promptly.

Hello. UKVI will usually review the documents provided and make a decision based on them. Once you have provided the requested documents, UKVI will review them to determine whether your application meets the requirements for a visa. Typically, if the documents provided satisfy the requirements, no further requests will be made and the visa decision will be made based on the information provided.
