Request for additional information

Post by holymoly24 » Thu Mar 07, 2024 3:41 pm

Hi Everyone,

I have recently applied for an unmarried partner visa to remain in the UK with my partner.

We have lived together since 28 January 2022, meaning as of 28 January 2024 we had lived together for 2 years. Which, I hope I'm understanding correctly, makes me eligible for the unmarried partner visa.
I applied for the visa on the 31st of January, switching from a skilled worker visa.

Biometrics were done on the 12th of February.

Today I recieved an email requesting the following:

We are currently assessing your application. We are unable to conclude the application at this time as we require additional information.

Please could you provide:
Applicant and spouse/ partner to provide 2-3 pieces of cohabitation evidence for the year of 2021 e.g. Tenancy, electric, gas and water bills, council tax etc

I'm a bit confused about what steps to take as we didn't live together in 2021.
In my original upload, I provided:
- tenancy agreement 2022-23, 2023-24 & this years agreement, both names
- utilities bills in both names, 6 over the 2 year period
- joint account statements
- council tax bills for 2 year period, both names

Should I just respond explaining this? everyone's human, maybe a mistake has been made. But I'm just worried, I'm the one who has made the mistake and I'm missing something here.

Any advice to put my mind at ease would be much appreciated. Thank you!!!

The requirement is to have lived together be in a relationship akin to marriage for 2years.
So reply accordingly to correct the CW misunderstanding.

Thank you for responding so quickly!
I knew in my head I had read the eligibility thoroughly but this process really makes you doubt yourself.

I'll respond as you suggested and hope an approval isn't too far off.
