certificate wrong spelling

Hello

my son's is 16 and his certificate has his Surname wrong.

which is a faster option.

1-name change legally
or
2- name change on certificate

Was the name correct on the application? If so, you can request a new certificate free of charge. If you made the mistake on the application you will need to pay a fee.

You're ready to change all the documents related to your son and define his future name's spelling just due to a mistake from HO/yourself? That sounds a bit reckless and unnecessary to me.

Correct the certificate.
